The Prime Minister has called a General Election on 4th July. Eastleigh Green Party is ready and we know you are too! The name to look out for on your ballot paper is Ben Parry.
Born in Bristol, Ben became the first of his family to attend university, studying English to a Master’s Degree level. After working in advertising in London, Ben backpacked the world before returning to the UK to train as a secondary school teacher at Southampton University. Ben taught in local schools and colleges, including Barton Peveril College, holding various positions of pastoral and curricular responsibility, and devoting his professional life to improving outcomes for local children for 17 years.
Ben left the public sector to set up, and become UK Director of an Eastleigh-based national traffic data company. As a local employer and business owner. For nine years he volunteered at an Eastleigh-based martial arts school, instructing both children and adults in self-defence. He currently volunteers as a junior football coach at AFC Stoneham.
Ben has lived in the Eastleigh Borough for over 16 years. As Co-Chair of Eastleigh Borough Green Party, Ben has stood as a candidate in local elections multiple times, including the ward of Fair Oak & Horton Heath as well as West End North.
Ben is well-placed to understand the difficult economic challenges local businesses currently face and will face shortly as we move toward Net Zero. With years of campaigning experience, he is all too aware of the concerns of local people and the very real cost of living crisis that is seeing many choose between heating and eating. Ben is aware that, until we remove the reliance on fossil fuels and address the current tax system, the socio-economic gap between different demographics will continue to widen.
Ben believes the Green Party is the only party that offers genuine hope at a time when the political debate has become so divisive and inward-looking, that voters have lost all faith in their politicians to urgently address the very real societal, economic, healthcare, and environmental issues that really matter, both at the national and local level.
Ben Parry is the natural choice for a fairer, greener, Eastleigh.
